Rabbit Hole by Kate Brody (Review)

Thank you to Netgalley, and the publisher for a chance to review this.

I was really excited for this book. The whole idea is amazing. The execution for me wasn't the best. I guess I expected more. It had some really wonderful parts, then other parts were extremely slow, and I struggled to get through. If you don't like animal deaths, then pass on this book. There is a scene near the end that deals with it. It was a tough scene to read, and I read a lot of extreme horror. As a debut, I think this worked well, and look forward to what Kate Brody comes up with next.

The Child at my Door by Sam Vickery (Review)

Thank you Netgalley for a copy to read, and review

This was a fast paced thriller from start to finish. As soon as you think you've solved it, another twist is added into the mix. This book will make you question a lot of things. Be careful of who you know, and who you trust. You'll be watching your back after reading this one.

The Eyes Are The Best Part by Monkia Kim (Review)

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy to read, and review.

I read the title, and saw the cover, and knew I had to read this. Then I read the synopsis, and was even more intrigued. This story was great. It was fun, and wild, and absolutely delicious. The drama, the tension, the way it was crafted was wonderful. I loved the gory bits too. Be sure to read this on your summer cookouts. Depending on how you are about eyes, this may, or may not be the book for you. it may induce some Ommetaphobia. The descriptions are absolutely juicy. Enjoy

Everything is Temporary by Jon Cohn (review)

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy to read, and review.

This was such a fun book. I read it in one sitting. Let's start with the cover, it is pretty awesome. It is hard to see on Kindle, but just pull it up on your phone, or laptop to see it fully. It's wonderful, and creative.

I found the story itself pretty fast paced. I liked how it went back and forth between two time lines. It wasn't terribly scary, but it did have some thrills. I think it was meant to be a little campy. I loved the references to Christmas movies it had throughout. If you're looking for something quick, and fun then  this will be the perfect book for you this holiday season.

Pedo Island Bloodbath by Duncan Ralston (Review)

Thank you to Netgalley, and the author for a chance to review this book.

Duncan Ralston. I've read a few others by him, and he doesn't disappoint. The title alone already makes you look twice, and look at that incredible cover! If you're familiar with Ralston's work, yes there are some triggers, so this isn't for everyone, but it was a fun ride. I am normally not big into vampires, but this one was good.

It was fun, and gory. If you're into fun shocking horror, and aren't triggered by much, or nothing bothers you give this (and his other books a go). if you are easily triggers I would skip this (and his others.) I myself love horror, and rarely am offended by anything. I will be looking forward to Duncan's next book.

Mother Knows Best Edited by Lindy Ryan (Review)

Thank you to Netgalley, and the publisher for a chance to review this book.

This was so much fun. An anthology of horror stories, and poems all by women. Everyone has a mother, not everyone has a bad mother, but these stories are full of them.

It starts with a wonderful introduction from Sadie "Mother Horror" Hartmann. Each story or poem is beautifully crafted, and is sure to bring chills to your spine. Mother trauma at its finest. Be sure to remember you mother when reading these spooky tales.

Also, this book shouldn't be enjoyed by just women. If you're a man with motherly issues read this too.

All I want for Christmas is YuYu by Arton Baleci (Review)

Thank you to Netgalley, and the publisher for a copy to review.

This was a short fun thriller. Very Mariah Carey vibes with this one. I myself can't stand her song, This book was fun. It wasn't the best, but it did have it's good moments too. I found some bits to be more enjoyable than others, and the writing itself didn't pull me in as much as the story. I suggest this if your looking for a short fun thriller for the holiday season.
