I received from Bookishfirsts in exchange for review.
I love true crime, and cold cases are even better.
Paul Holes memoir of investigating the Golden State Killer was amazingly written. I couldn't put it down. As haunting as the case is, you still get drawn deep into it. So many times I felt like I was right there with him right with the case. It's very scary to know you never know who could be a killer, they're hiding in plain sight. The monsters under the bed really are real. Only they're not under the bed. They're your next door neighbor.
The Golden State Killer was able to hide so long, and that's scary to think about how people can get away with haunting crimes. Thanks to Paul's work on the case along with DNA analysis, and help from Michelle McNamara (who also has a book on the Golden State Killer 'I'll Be Gone In The Dark' ) He was able to be caught.
I'm very glad I was able to read this, and if you love true crime I really think you'll enjoy this.
